The Galen Apartments are named for Claudius Galen — the ancient Greek physician whose medical writings and discoveries dominated Western medicine for over 1,300 years, and who remains one of the most influential figures in the history of medicine. As physician to Roman emperors and the first to systematically study anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and neurology, Galen’s contributions helped lay the foundation upon which modern medicine was built. We pay tribute to his legacy with an apartment community perfectly situated within walking distance of UF Health, the University of Florida College of Medicine, and the UF Health Shands Hospital system — one of the premier academic medical centers in the southeastern United States.   • What fees does The Galen Apartments charge?

    The Galen Apartments charges a one-time application fee of $75.


    Residents are charged a monthly $50 fee covering water, trash, and pest control.


    Residents are responsible for paying electric bills.
